Entry #3: Last April 10, 2019, I attended my first Connected Women event

I came into the meeting room a few minutes past 6:30 PM because I was preoccupied with the day’s driving lessons. If I hadn’t noticed my phone alarming the calendar event that was supposed to start in 10 minutes, I wouldn’t have been able to make it. I’m so glad I was able to attend.

Because I wasn’t able to take a photo again (facepalm), here’s a good snap from my dear friend.

2 speakers, 1 commitment and 1 community

Hearing the facts and stories from awesome women of all ages was eye-opening.

It reminded me of the struggles my mother had to go through. Dreams she almost gave up when she had her daughter. And how fulfilled and different she is now and how different her life would have turned out if no one stepped in and reminded her that she has the potential and opportunity.

Did you know that even though Filipino women are empowered to finish an undergraduate degree, at some point, most are not able to participate in our economy because of the very fact that women need to care of their family? The speakers themselves talked of how possible it is to achieve both (given the right balance and commitment).

So here’s my commitment – support for my circle and active pursuit of discovering other circles because no one else could lift us up but us, women.

My name is Roselle and I’m still working on my success story. You heard that right. I’m young, I work at home on my PJs and I’m still going to make many more mistakes in life. Just like you, just like we all do. But the other thing you should know about me is that I love helping people and this blog is one of the many outlets I have in connecting with you. I talk a lot about finance, business, and personal development. Visit my About page, if you want to know more about my story!
